How your appointment works

Three simple stages, usually completed within a single 15 minute visit.

1. Assessment

A trained clinician examines the lesion and confirms cryotherapy is suitable for you before anything is booked in.

2. Treatment

A fine jet of cold nitrous oxide is applied directly to the lesion, freezing the targeted tissue with millimetre accuracy.

3. Aftercare

Most people return to normal activities straight away. You leave with written aftercare and a review date if needed.

Yes. Reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your slot using the link in your confirmation email or text. Cancellations inside 24 hours may incur a charge to cover the reserved clinician time.

Most patients describe a brief stinging or nipping sensation lasting a few seconds. Anaesthetic is not normally required and the procedure itself is usually over in under a minute per lesion.

Many small lesions clear after one session. Thicker warts and verrucas often need two to three treatments spaced a few weeks apart, which the clinician will discuss at your assessment.

Cryotherapy treats benign lesions only. If anything about your skin needs further investigation, we will tell you at assessment and signpost you to your GP rather than treat.
